Method: A sample of 229 online dating users and non-users (men = 79, women = 150) completed an online survey and answered questions about their demographics, their online dating use, and their body dissatisfaction. The SWLS is a short 5-item instrument designed to measure global cognitive judgments of satisfaction with one's life. The scale usually requires only about one minute of a respondent's time.
